Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant position performs specialized and complex professional accounting responsibilities requiring thorough knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.  S/he prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, as well as analyzes processes, procedures, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.    This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of complicated tasks and is expected to use a wide degree of creativity and latitude. 


  • Prepares, examines, and/or analyzes financial statements or financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial information.
  • Prepares month end journal entries.
  • Ensures accuracy of GL through accurate posting and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Maintains GL account allocations.
  • Maintains and reconciles highly complex ledgers, P&L, & Balance Sheet Accounts.
  • Participates in month end processing and the creation of financial statements and reports.
  • Partners with FP&A and cost center managers to review budget vs actual expenses and analyze variances.
  • Researches, develops, documents, and proposes changes to improve processes and create efficiencies.
  • Mentors and trains accounting personnel on proper accounting procedures including the development of procedures and work instructions.
  • Acts as a technical resource for employees on utilizing SAP for accounting activities.
  • Mentors employees at all levels on how to interpret and utilize financial information.
  • Prepares audit schedules and support documentation for annual audits.
  • Closes month and year in accounting systems.


  • BA/BS degree in accounting/or related field or equivalent experience required; CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years accounting experience required.
  • 1+ year(s) cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of all processes and duties within the accounting department.
  • Demonstrated expertise with GAAP.
  • Advanced experience MS Office applications.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience in a product manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively mentor others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork.
