PC Support Technician

Under general supervision, the PC Support Technician provides first-line support to company employees to maintain software and hardware.


Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide routine analysis and problem solving of network and PC software, hardware, and peripherals.
• Maintain courteous customer service and professional manner.
• Contact and coordinate with hardware and software vendors for service if necessary.
• Install computer hardware, software, and peripherals for new employees or for employee relocations.
• Install new software packages and upgrades.
• Aid in the development of system documentation and procedure manuals as required.
• Conduct training sessions for company employees in the operation of software/hardware systems.
• Assist the network team in daily network administration.
• Oversee the uncompleted technical requests and ensure open communication with users.
• Oversee the inventory, configuration, and maintenance of all workstations.
• Oversee the inventory, configuration, and maintenance of Acumed's library of laptops for employees' business use.
• Request quotes from approved vendors and submit purchase requisitions for all hardware, software and IT supplies company-wide.
• Troubleshoot and maintenance of fax, printer and copy machines company-wide.
• Purchase and perform inventory control for all toner cartridges used in fax, printer and copy machines throughout the company.
• Oversee and coordinate the administration, creation, and changing of company passwords.
• Create and modify network profiles and Outlook mailboxes. Provide training to maintain mailboxes.
• Maintain anti-virus and Spam applications across the network.
• Perform PC equipment and phone relocations for end users.
• Maintenance of Active Directory
• Administration of telephone system
• Other duties / projects as assigned


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum two years related experience or training.
• A+ Certification preferred
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) a plus.
• Experience with MS Local Area Networks.
• Must have good written and verbal communication in English.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently, and be a willing and cooperative team player.
• Must be able to work patiently and cooperatively with users that have varied technical abilities/knowledge.
• Experience with Active Directory
