Product Manager, AcuVentures

The Product Manager independently defines new product strategy, develops business cases for action, and conducts market research. The Product Manager creates and executes assigned product launch activities including launch materials, communications and training and identifies lessons learned from the product development and launch processes. Remains current on product knowledge and industry trends, competitive introductions, and clinical research. Works with Product Management team and other departments within the company to drive completion of project deliverables, strategic upstream and downstream activities. Gathers data to facilitate business decisions regarding product development and portfolio strategy that are communicated across key company stakeholders.


  1. Strategizes, creates, and executes the full product lifecycle of AcuVentures products from initiation to end-of-life.
  2. Gathers and analyzes "Voice of Customer" data for assigned products and drives data integration into product design.
  3. Researches and understands clinically relevant content to support assigned projects.
  4. Researches and understands competitive products and techniques to support assigned projects.
  5. Completes ROI/AFEs and evaluates impacts of design changes at each gate in the product life cycle. 
  6. Designs and executes business and marketing plans, develops product strategies and tactical plans to execute strategies for assigned products using approved templates and defined processes. Identifies resources and ensures execution of approved plans.
  7. Coordinates the development of marketing literature for AcuVentures products with Marcom.
  8. Conducts complex primary and secondary market research by identifying sources, analyzing results, and synthesizing results into strategies for assigned products.
  9. Represents Product Management for assigned products on Product Development Teams. Responsible for completing tasks assigned to Product Management.
  10. Ensure product line strategy and products released to market meet the voice of the customer.
  11. Provides detailed monthly analyses of assigned product sales and unit trends, identifies barriers to sales performance, and creates plans to resolve sales and turns challenges and reports to leadership.
  12. Provides highly detailed technical support on assigned products. Responsible for taking and answering technical calls regarding products, both during and outside of regular business hours.
  13. Evaluates and processes feedback from field regarding assigned products and enter data into product feedback database and the complaint system; escalates issues as appropriate.
  14. Assists in the development of product budgets.
  15. Partners with Medical Education & Field Training to develop training plans and conduct advanced global product training programs for internal staff, Independent Sales Consultants, and Health Care Professionals (HCPs).
  16. Facilitates labs for customer preference, design review, and product validation.
  17. Provides surgeons and sales partners general product knowledge on the full portfolio at global tradeshows, Bioskills courses, Surgical Skills labs, and other new product training events as a representative of the company.
  18. Develops surgeon relationships for consulting, product development, case studies, Voice of Customer engagements, etc.
  19. Writes and disseminates product information for marketing and communications to the field.
  20. Ensures 100% compliance with all applicable laws, AdvaMed guidelines and company policies.
  21. Conducts market research and attends industry forums to address significant technical challenges.


  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineering or related field of study required, an MBA is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Three to 5 years of experience in a classical marketing function with direct product management or sales experience.
  3. 2 or more years of experience in Medical Device or similar industry is required.
  4. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and execute product launches globally.
  5. Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, performance analysis, business planning, business forecasting concepts, and strategic planning.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for interacting with customers and coworkers.
  7. Advanced presentation skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations to large groups of peers and customers.
  8. Leadership presence including demonstrated experience in presenting to executives.
  9. Proven positive and professional demeanor.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team oriented environment.
  11. Ability to structure and self-manage own work for multiple projec
  12. Self-starter; ability to take ownership over processes.
  13. Advanced computer skills working with Excel and PowerPoint, proficient in remaining MS Office Suite.
  14. Background in orthopedic products or medical devices highly preferred.
  15. Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver results with multiple and complex project.
